Designed in 1970 by B. Zehrfuss, G. Gillet, H. Bernard and J. Prouvé for the façades; the building no longer matched the current policy of openness on a European level nor did it live up to current standards.
Its prestigious creators are fully respected with this renovation. The structure adopted has been adapted to provide comfort, transparency and user-friendliness, for instance, the public reception spaces are surrounded by a glass plinth that lets in plenty of light. A glass-and-metal atrium links the two buildings and overlooks a park and the urban setting.
